Dear all
Since these online shifts are new, several people have questions about
their scope and the procedures around them. I will attempt to clarify
things a bit.
The online shifts are different from the expert/worker shifts, although
they are fairly similar to a specialized worker in scope. The required
trainings and experience are the same as for worker shifts. The duties of
the online shift takers at this point consist in reconstructing raw data
using the standard CLAS12 package, and run a few analysis scripts on the
cooked data. Which amount of data and which scripts exactly may depend on
the commissioning phase or whether we are in production mode. Finally, the
online shift takers will inspect the resulting plots from those scripts and
may ring an alarm bell if they think the plots look funny.
This afternoon's tutorial is the first meeting dedicated to those shifts.
You do not *have* to attend, in fact it would be best to keep this meeting
small. In addition, it is likely that instructions will be updated during
the first week of commissioning.
Please let me know if you have more questions
Best regards
FX
