Dear All,

Due to the annual run-around event today at JLAB, I’ve decided to cancel today’s meeting after consulting PDL.

I’d also like to give a short update on where we are now:

1.After beam studies on Monday, we did a series of Moller runs to understand the systematics. The measurements (with changes to Wien angles) did not seem sensible at the first look. However, Stepan managed to understand it and those measurements are just fine — and significant. We can discuss that tomorrow at the RC meeting.

2. We had some delay getting beam back due to the tagger magnet degauss. It seems that we would benefit if a more reliable procedure for tagger degaussing could be (re)produced, since this has happened a number of times. Again, we can discuss that tomorrow.

3. Production run resumed around 3am this morning. We are now running with near-perfect beam positions and FT cal asymmetries. Hopefully it will stay that way.

4. We haven’t had enough data — or rather enough FT trigger bits issues, which is good — yet, to determine if Sergey/Ben’s fix yesterday worked or not. They are monitoring it.

5. We will run production data until tomorrow morning 11am when we ramp down the magnets in preparation for the Hall B tour (scheduled for 1pm). The hall will be in restricted access, most likely from 12pm (after rad con team surveys the hall), till maybe around 3pm. So, if you want to take some opportunistic access this is a good time to plan for it — please be flexible so you can avoid the exact time when the tour happens. Let me and PDL know if you do plan so.

6. We will have the daily RC meeting tomorrow (Wednesday) at 3pm in the counting house.

Cheers!

Lei
