Annalisa,
I cannot speak to where Nick’s original numbers came from, but my tests of the new e’K+
skim to the old skim14 were done with the files that Nick produced last night give the following:
6.5 GeV: skim14 - 8.7% of DST, skim14new - 6.1% of DST
7.5 GeV: skim14 - 5.4% of DST, skim14new - 3.7% of DST
I think I had a typo in my numbers for 6.5 GeV. I redo them below.
6.5 GeV: 13.4 GB, 6.1% of DST
7.5 GeV: 6.3 GB, 3.7% of DST
Note that my numbers were not based on a full run, but on just 5 data files. The full runs will
be skimmed for more detailed checks shortly. However, my numbers are above are good enough
for the reply to the committee.
Regards,
Daniel

Dear Dan,
do we understand why these reduction factors correspond to larger expected sizes, compared with original Nick's numbers?

Annalisa,
Nick prepared the updated “skim 14” (or whatever he will call the e’K+ skim) custom wagon and
I finished testing it last night. The final reduction factors are as follows:
6.5 GeV: 19.1 GB, 8.7% of DST,
7.5 GeV: 6.3 GB, 3.7% of DST
This is now ready to go for RG-K.
Regards,
Daniel

Dear All,
following yesterday meeting, I have compiled the attached slide including the present status of custom trains prepared for on-going data analysis.
I have applied the same reduction factor extracted by FX on 6.5 GeV data to the 7.5GeV ones. I would expect 7.5 GeV reduction factors to be even smaller than the 6.5 GeV ones for all DVCS channels.
The revised scheme looks already much better than the original one.
To my understanding three more steps would be appropriate:
1. Nick should test the reduction factor for skim13 MissingNeutron using the appropriate beam energy values for both 6.5 GeV and 7.5 GeV
2. An updated version of skim13 eK+ could be implemented and tested using a custom wagon
3. Custom wagons should be defines and tested for the two pions channel.
From our discussion I understood that none of these three steps are really fundamental to prove the Review Committee that we can start with pass1 since trains can be run at any moment on the recon files.
Nick, would you please assign skim numbers to the various DVCS skims ?
I will insert a figure compatible with this slide in out overleaf reply document.
All the best
Annalisa
