Dear Walt,

According to our current schedule CLAS12 drift chambers that
occupy most of space in the
clean room must be installed in the hall. The only thing will be
remain there is SVT. SVT does
not take much space and it can be moved around if needed.
Dear Volker, Stepan and Mac:

As Marco mentions below, we are approaching the time for the
RICH detector work to begin in EEL 124. I've included an excerpt
from the work plan here.

RICH detector assembly October 2016 to July 2017
The assembly of the detector will begin in the EEL-124 clean
room in October
2016. The project team has requested an area of 36’ x 36’.
This large area is
required also to perform the alignment of the mirrors inside
the detector. The area
must be quipped with a 2 ton crane capacity and possibly a
forklift for the
movement and installation of the various components.
The assembly of the RICH will be performed by using a special
mechanical
structure, anchored on the floor, on which the various
components will be
mounted. The assembly structure is equipped with a winch to
rotate the RICH
from the vertical assembly position to the horizontal one
ready for the
transportation inside the Hall B.
The assembly procedures will also include the check of the
alignment of the
mirrors once they are installed and the survey of the RICH
module. For these
operations, the support of the JLab survey group is requested.

Are your folks nearing completion of their work in the room and
how
soon might it be available for the RICH folks to begin?

Thanks,

even if with some delay, the construction of the RICH is
almost done and we should be able to ship by sea during this
summer.
It means that most likely in September all the material should
be stored in the CMSA.
According to the last RICH installation plan we discussed, the
assembly work should start in October. Could you please
confirm that the area we need in the EEL124 clean room will be
made free?
Thanks,
