Subject: pbs server on farmpbs
Sandy,
Now Vardan's jobs run successfully on farm node, we can start to plan to set up a new queue "exclusive", or some other name if anyone has a better name. We can move 6 farm12xxx nodes into this queue. Later operation team can add or remove nodes in the queue.
To use the same track for multi-core jobs, I suggest that we create a new routing queue "production". All tracks used to map to prod64 queue will change to routing queue "production". This routing queue will forward to new "exclusive" queue if the ppn >= 16. Otherwise jobs will go to old prod64 queue.
I think we can create these two new queues now, this will not interrupt the current queuing/running jobs (please verity this). After this change, all new jobs will still go to prod64 queue. Once I test the new queue, I will update the database Track table to map to production queue. Then Vardan's job (20 core) will go to "exclusive" queue, every other jobs still go to old "prod64" queue.
Ying
