Below are the meeting minutes, and they are also on the wiki page.
Attending: John, Michael, Igor, Eugene, Veronique, Lei
Minutes:
Our proposal reviewers are Keith Griffioen and Marco Battaglieri
Item 1: The effect of the FT resolution on the s/b ratio. FT
resolution IS included in Derek and Michael's simulation. However, if
it is not clear, for example in the reaction of gamma p->K+K+K0K-
(Lambda), the K0 mass is constrained in reconstructing the missing
lambda, and the lambda four momentum can be reconstructed using the
lambda mass in order to improve the S/B ratio for M(LambdaK-), as
opposed to MM(K+K+K0K-). Derek an Michael seems to have all the data
to check the effects.
Item 2: Eugene raise the issue of comparison with gluex. Our main
advantage seems to be the momentum resolution/PID and vertex detector.
We need to find the relevant GlueX parameters for comparison.
Item 3: Is Kaon decayed handled in FASTMc. We are not sure, but the
answer is probably not. However, even if kaon decay, the track can
still probably be reconstructed. The effect should not be big since
most kaons move close to speed of light and time dilation works in our
favor. The best way to check this quantiatively, without full CLAS12
simulation, is to do this in CLAS simulation by comparison
efficiencies with and without decay.
Item 4: Xi(1820) efficiency seems too low (from Johann, using a
hyperon-decay based Xi(1820) produciton mechanism), when compared with
a similar reaction for Omega- (Derek and Michael, using phase space),
by a factor of 6. Whether this is due to the physics in the generator
or other factors remains to be sorted out. Michael agrees to come up
with the Xi(1820) efficiency using phase space, but since Xi(1820) is
not included in Phythia, it will take a bit of time. On the other
hand, Johann should try to reproduce the Xi-(1320) number produced by
Michael to see if there is anything mistaken in his simulation since
it only started to work late last week.
