Hi Mike:
I haven't been able to participate in the meetings lately (see my message of a few minutes ago); why are you comparing to my results rather than Lei Guo's from 2007, which are probably superior in every way?
John

Subject: [Clas12_verystrange] Cascade comparison
Hi,
I have attached a plot of Cascade-(1321) using the same code that I used
to generate the Omega- (cascadeM.gif). The plot is the missing mass
spectrum (MassX) from the reaction:
gamma p -> K+ K+ X
I have also included plots from John Price's paper showing the same
spectrum from g6 data (PriceCascade.png).
The incident photon energy range for the g6 experiment is, of course,
different than what CLAS12 will have, however, the signal to background
ratio I get in my plot looks somewhat consistent with what John saw from
g6 data.
Perhaps the simulated backgrounds are not too far off from reality?
Take care,
Michael
