[Clas12_verystrange] Xi(1820) angular distribution question

Dear all,

In trying to write down the angular distribution for the decay of this
cascade resonance I encountered the following difficulty (see link below).
 Can someone please tell me if I am misunderstanding something in the
production mechanism for this state and what assumptions can made.

I am copying Dennis on this since I was told that he used the LASS data on
K- p --> K- pi+ n to study the pi+ n system and would therefore be able to
tell me more on how to go about this.
