-------------- next part --------------
We thank you for you comments and numerous excellent suggestions.
We've implemented all the editorial and structural suggestions. Some
of your specific comments are addressed below:
Marco:
1. Motivation part (Omega). We now stressed in the proposal that we
are not just doing the measurement for Omega that wasn't well measured
before, rather that we WILL be the first measurement for Omega in
photoproduction.
2. Motivation part (mass splitting). We are actively doing simulation
for the Xi0, to actively evaluate the expected precision of the mass
splitting measurement. Previous measurement lacked statistics, and
CLAS12 will greatly improve on that, and also will be able to cancel
out most common systematic uncertainty due to beam energy/momentum
resolution, etc. The expected results will be ready in a matter of a
week, and will be added as an addendum.
3. Motivation part (N*). We added some discussion of the advantage of
X physics over N* physics, and also stressed that X physics is
intimately related to the Y* physics as well.
4. Cross section calculation: We restructured the proposal. The
expected results with uncertainty is shown in the section of "beam
time".
5.photon energy dependence: We added discussion on that in the text,
as well as the expected results/uncertainty as a function of Egamma
(Fig. 27).
6. Detector/kinematic coverage: Again, we restructured the relevant
part, and also added plots (Fig. 22, for example), as well as the
discussion of kaon identification.
7. Simulation statistics: We agree that the background scaling is not
exactly we wanted yet. This is quite machine time intensive, while we
have not finished the simulation of the background, we expect the
results to be ready in a couple of weeks, well before the PAC
presentation, and will be added in the addendum. Qualitatively, it
would not differ from what we have in the proposal.
8. Projecte results for spin-parity. We are actively working on it.
Since what is required is the decay angles, not the lab angles, to be
used in the double moment analysis, we think CLAS12 will be totally
capable of this type of measurement. This is very similar to
performing PWA in CLAS (and CLAS12), where the holes of acceptances
does not affect the partial wave analysis results. We do recognize the
importance of the projected results, however, it is not exactly a
trivial job and need some new tools development. We do expect that the
results will be ready soon, before the PAC meeting.
9. FT untagged/tagged confusion: We fixed that.
Keith:
1. Repetitiveness: We rewrote the abstract, got rid of some of the
redundant sentences, and removed the summary part. It should read much
smoother now.
2. Restructuring: We appreciated your excellent suggestion, and it
DOES look better after we implemented it.
3. Expected results: We agree that having some key plots as the
expected results is important. In addition to Fig.24, Fig. 27 as our
expected results for Omega. We are also currently working on several
new plots of projected results, such as
the expected uncertainty of the Xi- differential cross sections
(dsigma/dcos), the resolution of the mass splitting (these two will be
ready next week), as well as the projected double moments distribution
(this one will take longer, but should be ready before the PAC
meeting). We would not necessarily be able to compare with existing
CLAS results in terms of differential cross section, since they will
be in different Egamma regions. HOwever, the dramatic decreased of
statistical uncertainty should be apparent if they were to be put side
by side in the presentation.
Please let us know if you have further suggestions.
Thanks a gain!
