[Clas12_verystrange] meeting minutes

We had a meeting today. Eugene, Diane, Veronique and Lei called in.

Nobody objected to submitting the proposal to CLAS collaboration, and  
taking the "CAA" type route. The deadline is Apr 6th. Since we will  
seek to join the proton running group at CLAS12, we have no choice but  
assuming the approved running conditions, i.e., 80 days of full field  
(although 75% field remains a possiblity), and 20 days of reverse  
field at full strength.
To address these new running conditions, and PAC comments, we divided  
the tasks up. We will perform new simulations for Omega-, Xi-, and Xi- 
(1820), for all three conditions: full and 75% field, and reverse field.

GWU (Diane ) and FIU will both perform simulations for Omega-, so we  
can have consistency checks between the groups. Both 3k and 4k  
channels will be analyzed.
GWU(Diane) will also perform simulaiton for Xi-, and the reactions  
should be gamma p--> K+K+(Xi-) and K+K+pi-(Lambda)
FIU(Will/Jason/Lei) will also do simulation for Xi-(1820), and the  
reactions should be gamma p--> K+K+K-(Lambda) and K+K+K-proton(pi-)

In order to address the background/PID issues raised by PAC, ASU  
(Mike) will generate PYTHIA events using local clusters. These  
background events will be analyzed for the above channels, and should  
be combined wiht signals.

We should probably aim for simulation results in the next week or two.  
The background generation will take a bit longer, but we should be  
able to have a new proposal a couple weeks before the deadline and  
reviewed by our group.
