HI, Guys,

We had our meeting today (Eugene, Diane, Mike and Lei). ANd apparently  
Dan missed the meeting due to the daylight saving time change in the US.

We went over Diane's simulations results. SHe confirmed the  
observation of reverse field being beneficial for Omega- 4K channel  
(even better than the half field with normal polarity). Eugene  
confirmed with VOlker the reverse field is for 30 days (not 20 or 40  
as originally thought). THis is very good news since the statistical  
uncertainty for the 4K channel of the differential cross sections  
would only increase for less than 70% compared with the projected  
results using half field in the original proposal -- this is a  
dramatic difference compared with our worse case scenario when only  
full field is used, which would have led to an error bar that is about  
three times larger.

Diane's Xi- simulation results is very similar to Will's Xi-(1820)  
simulation, in that the reverse field effect is less pronounced than  
Omega-. Diane will include the other channel for Xi- polarization  
measurement (gamma p --> K+ K+ pi- (Lambda)).

Mike has generated 5B background events, and is in the process of  
uploading them to Jlab machines. These events will be used  (by Diane  
and WIll) to generate various signal+background spectra.

Since we had a some criticism about the English last time, Mike has,  
and Dan has been (:)), volunteered to go over the texts. Lei will  
produce a newer version of the proposal, incorporating most to the new  
simulation results (in the absence of certain plots, either older  
plots or space filler will be used), and it should be ready for review  
later next week.
