Hi, All,
Since not everyone was able to attend Monday’s meeting and today’s RGA meeting, here is the summary for both meetings; Feel free to correct them.
Very Strange Meeting Summary (Jan 25, 2016)
Attendees: (might miss some) Eugene, Veronique, Mike, Brian, Will, Lei, Derek, Nick, Dan, John
Issues discussed:
Simulation. Mike is figuring out how to use our old generators and get the appropriate format to feed to GEMC. Veronique reminded us that most information is online, https://gemc.jlab.org/gemc/html/index.html <https://gemc.jlab.org/gemc/html/index.html>, and Maurizio could be contacted is help is needed. Derek mentions that he could easily perform the simulation with GEMC — the problem is that there is not yet full reconstruction and it’s not clear how to get the four vectors (and other information) out.
Man Power: We went around the table to discuss the possible (PhD) students that would potentially work on this experiment. Although nobody is certain at this point, we agreed that we could end up with 2+- PhD students (Glasgow, Edinburgh, FIU, ASU combined) and potentially some summer undergraduate students (CSU).
RG-A meeting (Jan 27, 2016)
Latifa organized the meeting. About 10 people including me were on bluejeans, and others are onsite (Volker, Latifa, Stepan, Mac, Eugene, Marco, Veronique, etc). Eugene and I also discussed offline.
Since RG-A is the first group to run with physics results expected (hopefully in 2017), the main focus was the running conditions for the group. Key issues that I think are most relevant to us are: FT/Luminosity/Field/Electron-inbending-VS-outbending. Clearly we would prefer that we do run with FT, and collaborate with the meson group. It might be a good idea to talk with Marco and Raffaela about what FT related projects we could help with. Luminosity/Field/e-bending issues all needed more simulation and full-simulation. We probably want to shoot to have some results/conclusion by this Summer. Veronique also announced that a new release for the reconstruction software will be available within weeks. This obviously is good news for u.
This is what I recall. I did not hear when the next RG-A meeting would be. Eugene and Veronique could also add to the above.
Cheers!
