Hi all,
I have been running simulations using the new versions of GEMC and COATJAVA. For some reason, reconstruction using CLARA on farm didnt work. I am now running the reconstruction locally, but dont know if I will have enough time to produce new results for Marco by the end of today. I have put together a few slides using my old study.

From this, I get the following efficiencies (reconstructed events with 2Kplus 1positive pion and 1 negative pion — multiplied by the K^0 branching ratio divided by events thrown). From this, I get the following:
T0.75 S06: Eff=0.3%
T-0.75 S06: Eff=0.83%
T0.75 S08: Eff=0.27%
T-0.75 S08: Eff=0.75%
Using the production rate from the proposal (94 Omega/h) which was based on 8.7 x 10^{31} tagged luminocity and 0.3nb cross section, we expect to have Rate of reconstructed Omega:
T0.75 S06: 0.28/h
T-0.75 S06: 0.78/h
T0.75 S08: 0.25/h
T-0.75 S08: 0.70/h
The detection of one of the decay products of the Omega (preferably the proton or pion) to impose a detached vertex cut to remove background, will decrease our reconstruction rate — I will study this using the higher statistic sample.
Let me know what you think.
-Nick
