[Clas12_verystrange] Lambda from skim 14 - RG-A pass 1

Hello All,

Just as a “heads up" my Lambda does disappear when using Geraint’s correction. Not sure if I have a bug or if I’m finally selecting exclusive events! If it’s not a bug the Lambdas I was seeing were from another decay.

Hello Everyone,

I fixed the bug in my program. I was not reassigning the masses in my 4 Vectors after switching from REC to RECFT banks. Here’s my lambda using the RECFT bank! Looks “good” to me! Of course the electron momentum is off and you can see that in my missing mass plot.

Hello Strangers,

I repeated this experiment with Skim 11 (electron in FT, kaon selected using the RECFT bank). I did not change any of my previous cuts, I simply switched to using the RECFT bank and required the electron to be detected in the forward tagger. You can see the Lambda in the invariant mass plot but not in the missing mass plot. I will use Geraint’s parametrization of the electron momentum correction and see what happens.

Note: This is with some subset of the 93 runs. ~20-40 runs? It’s still downloading and is ~1TB so it will take a little while.

Hello Strangers,

As promised I will send you my cuts/event selection for the plots I have been showing:

Data: Skim14 (Electron in FD, k+ anywhere)

Event selection:
1 e^- in FD
1 pi^- anywhere
1 k+ anywhere
1 proton anywhere

Cuts:
k+ momentum < 2.0 GeV
Missing Mass^2 off of reconstructed particles (4 tracks) < 0.05 GeV^2
New** = Missing Momentum < 0.1 GeV

Assumption: e^- beam energy set to 10.614 for MM calculations (I should look into this…).

Sorry Eugene, you’ll have to wait for the suggested plots until after I finish writing this midterm!
