Dear All,
As mentioned during the meeting on Friday, I checked the events found by Jose where multiple CVT tracks are matched to the same CTOF hits.

This scenario is foreseen by the Event Builder that allows multiple tracks to be matched to the same cluster or hit in other detectors. When that happens REC::Scintillator will contain sort of duplicated entries with the same energy, time and (x,y,z), since those variables depends on the CTOF hit. What is not correct and will be fixed is that apparently also path and (hx,hy,hz) are the same. That should not happen since these quantities depend on the track and should be different. Even if this is incorrect, the mistake seems to affect only the numbers written to the bank and not the ones used in the code. In fact beta and chi2pid in REC::Particle are different. The correct path and (hx,hy,hz) that are indeed used to do the track-hit matching and calculate beta and chi2pid are available in REC::Traj. In conclusion, even if some of the values in REC::Scintillator are incorrect, the correct values are available in DSTs and are used by the code to assign the PID.

The question that remains is whether all the CVT tracks in events like those are real or whether some are ghost. The suggestion there is to filter applying cuts on the track chi2 and NDF from REC::Track, and also on chi2pid from REC::Particle.

Best regards,
	Raffaella
