Lewis: It would be easiest for Hovanes and I to give you annotated copies
of your normalization note instead of typing in comments. Could you let me
know your schedule so that we can give these to you before you go back to
SC?
Thanks, Elton.

== [[Update 8-26 | Normalization studies]] (Lewis) ==
# Lewis sent out a link to the latest version of the Normalization Note at
[[Image:Usc ana note eg3.v1.01.pdf]]
# Elton and Hovanes took a brief look at it and will send comments
separately
# Discussion centered around Table 3:
#* It is not understood why in the first row, the numbers are so different
between the second column (20-30%) and third columns (1-2%), since the
normalization factor have only changed by less than 5%.
#* Hovanes: need to understand how these numbers have been obtained to
assess their implications
#* Haiyun: The factof of 4.7 smooths out the cross section for pion
production, but the Lambda cross sections show smooth variation witb
factors of about 4.55. He noted that this could be due to the 2D fits that
are performed on the pion data.
#* Hovanes: For the Phi-- paper we will like to use the uncertainties
estimated between 2-4.5 GeV, quoting the consistency with the value 4.5-5
GeV. But at the moment the numbers are not very consistent.
== Phi-- (Hovanes) ==
# Attempted to eliminate the bad performing T-counters from the Phi--
analysis.
# The plan is to eliminate Ecounters that are in coincidence with poorly
performing T-counters from both the data and the gflux normalization.
# This proved more difficult than anticipated due to technical
difficulties. The UNH cluster was upgraded and required considerable
effort to get the codes working again. At the moment global variables used
for selection cuts are not working as before, Feature or bug of upgraded
ROOT system?
