# [[Trigger efficiency loss estimates due detached vertexes outside start
counters using STN0 and TBTR banks]]. Hovanes has studied the loss of
decaying particles in the trigger due to detached vertices outside the
start counter.
# First checkec to see if previous studies of this kind were documented on
the wiki and could not find them, so study had to be redone.
# Look at ST raw hits and check trigger condition. The STN0 and STN1 start
counter banks were missing in the cooked gsim files, so Hovanes had to
merge original cooked gsim files (with previous operating system) with the
raw ST banks.
# Picked events with 4 tracks in 3 sectors (to approximately match
analysis selection for acceptance)
# Checked to see if hits in ST banks matched trigger condition, otherwise
these events were assumed lost. 10% of the events were lost due to this
condition.
# Further analysis section cuts, might change this fraction somewhat due
to picking out events with a different momentum spectrum. To do this
Hovanes had to create a new program, but it might take time to run. Expect
refined number next week.
# Elton: Should include this trigger loss into overall acceptance and this
will increase limits by about 10%.
