Igor and Danny,
the statements in the abstract are correct. You may skip the parenthesis
after pomeron exchange "(VDM model)" because you define VDM much later.
Just a short comment to Igor: In principle, the parity aysmmetry is the
correct observable to distinguish between J^p=0^- and 0^+ exchange for
peripheral production. I expect that the data near threshold have
clearly negative Sigma_p. It would have been nice to show the 2.1 GeV
data as well to see when it turns over (DSG is not sensitive enough to
distinguish between both t-channel processes).
I agree that most of the abstract is "theory" or phenomenology but
without seeing the experimental results (long before the conference!), I
think he should not make statements about the experimental data.
My 2 cents,
Franz
