Hi All,
Despite NN-Bar--->2gamma is rare, it should have distinctive signature, which is two correlated photons in opposite directions.
Best Regards,
Victor

Valeri is, of course, correct (see comment below). The 2-gamma annihilation is a rare process. The annihilation to mesons is dominant. Still, one should see clustered e.m. energy as there should be a number (many?) of pi0's generated, and if the entire energy (e.m. + hadr.) is contained in the EC the response should still be about 1.9 GeV, but more distributed in space.

Hi Volker,
The neutron-antineutron annihilation at rest results in the production of mesons, primarily pions. It is not electromagnetic process like in electron-positron annihilation. The annihilation to photons is very rare process.

Valery

Will,
Beautiful!
I wonder if anyone had a look at the energy information for antineutrons hitting the EC. They will have to lose the anti-matter energy by annihilating at rest with a neutron into a pair of 940 MeV photons and leaving in the calorimeter an e.m. energy cluster of 1.88 GeV. It would be a direct measurement of the neutron-antineutron annihilation.

Hello Volker,
It is a peak in the missing mass spectrum. Here is a histogram with ~60% of g12's data.

Hi Will,
An interesting abstract. I am curious regarding your anti-neutron. Is it just a single event at the right mass or do you see a peak in the missing-mass spectrum?

Hello everyone,
My apologies for this being so late, I just really wanted to try to get this in before the deadline tonight.
Thanks,
