<p>Dear Igor,<br>

<p>The rescattering diagram comes directly from a CLAS publication, T. Mibe et al., which was published in Phys. Rev. C (2007) with very little problem. It is true that this is not the only diagram that can contribute, but it is likely to be the dominant mechanism
to keep the deuteron bound in the final state. Also in Mibe's paper are calculations from theorists (Mark Strickman et al) where they used this diagram to do their calculation. So you see, at least some people see this as a reasonable argument. I suggest
you talk with Mark Strickman to see why they used this diagram in the calculation.<br>

<div dir="ltr">Dear Taya,
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Thank for your good slides. Unfortunately, your motivation, slide #2, is problematic </div>
<div>for me. You added the rescattering diagram to the impulse approximation and </div>
<div>assume that you selected two dominant diagrams which will work for your rho </div>
<div>photoproduction on the deuteron. I do not think so. Let me guess that you use </div>
<div>analogy with our analysis of the CLAS data for gd-->pi0d where critical role plays </div>
<div>a rescattering mechanism with eta-meson at intermediate state and taking into </div>
<div>account the fact that the first S11 has a huge BR in to etaN. That was good for </div>
<div>gd-->pi0d and allows to predict and describe a structure (close to the eta threshold) </div>
<div>in the excitation function for the backward scatting (no dibaryon contribution). </div>
<div>Unfortunately, your case is different. </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>I cannot advise how you can fix this slide but definitely, this slide is problematic </div>
<div>and nobody will buy it</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Kind Regards, Igor</div>

Dear all,<br>
<br>
I am going to give a contributed talk in the APS April Meeting, which is<br>
less than a week from now. My talk is titled "Coherent rho-meson<br>
photoproduction off deuterium from CLAS".<br>
<br>
This talk will present preliminary cross sections obtained from the g10<br>
data set. This utilizes fits about the &#961; peak within the invariant<br>
mass spectrum of the &#960;+&#960;&#8722; pair for bins in the 4-momentum<br>
transfer, t, as a function of E&#947;. This result will help improve<br>
understanding of nucleon scattering. In addition, this study is also<br>
important to understand the backgrounds in analyses of a possible d&#8727;<br>
dibaryon resonance that has the same final state.<br>
<br>
You can find the slides at<br>

<br>
Any comments or suggestions would highly be appreciated.<br>
<br>
The talk is on Sunday, April 12th at 11:09 am.<br>
<br>

Taya Chetry<br>
