we are looking for a graduate student (PhD candidate) to work at IKP of
Forschungszentrum Juelich. Please inform suitable candidates of this
opportunity.


The doctoral thesis will be about the experimental investigation of
light meson decays. High statistics data are available on eta decays
from the WASA-at-COSY detector in Jülich,

The experiments perform a complete measurement of the final state
particles from proton-proton collisions. The physics goals comprise
tests of fundamental symmetries, such as C, P, T and combinations
thereof, the search for physics beyond the Standard Model as well as
precision studies of strongly interacting particles. The experimental
approach requires the use and maintenance of the detector up to the data
analysis and simulation calculations, and the physics interpretation of
the results.

WASA-at-COSY is an international collaboration and offers the experience
of team work including the strong student body and participation in the
experiment beam times. The doctoral thesis work concentrates on data
analysis with dedicated software based on the C++ and ROOT packages.
