Dear all!

Please submit an abstract to the APS meeting in Washington if you have
interesting Hall B results to report.
Granted, Washinton DC doesn't sound as exciting as Big Island Hawaii, it
is nonetheless a very important event for our field. See the message
from the APS meeting department and from the DNP Program Committee below.

Message to members of the American Physical Society's DNP,
Authorized by Ben Gibson,Secretary-Treasurer of DNP
=============================================================
Dear DNP Colleagues:

(With apologies for multiple messages on this topic.)

As you know from the messages delivered earlier, the 'April' meeting
of the APS will be held in Washington, D.C., on February 13-17, 2010.
However, in one important aspect this meeting does resemble those
former days when 'the April meeting' was synonymous with 'the
Washington meeting'. A special effort is being made for this meeting
to have maximum impact on policy makers, starting with the theme
"Physics for the Nation's Future". In addition, the meeting is being
held jointly with the meeting of the Association of American Physics
Teachers and overlaps with the meetings of the National Society of
Black Physicists and the National Society of Hispanic Physicists. As
such, the meeting promises to be a watershed event.

The Division of Nuclear Physics is well-represented with 5 invited
sessions, 8 joint invited sessions with other APS and AAPT units, 4
mini-symposia and a plenary talk. It is important that these sessions
be complemented by a corresponding number of submitted abstracts.
Please consider submitting an abstract and attending what will be a
truly exciting event.

Details on the meeting and the abstract submission page are available
at
       http://www.aps.org/meetings/april/index.cfm

The deadline for abstract submission is *this* Friday, October 23rd.

Sincerely,

Bill Zajc, for the DNP Program Committee
