<p>On Wednesday evening we emptied LD2 target and proceeded with Empty+Pb production rans at 160 nA (after luminosity scans and coordination with Eugene and Yuri). At night, BMT started to trip due to high current.</p>
<p>RC meeting main ran points:</p>
<p>- Comments from Yuri: solid targets are hard on BMT strip voltages; the voltages were decreased to 400 V on S3L5 which was previously stable. If we continue to ran Empty+Pb current needs not to exceed 140 nA.<br />
- Florian is using opportunistic beam today to test new DC firmware. BMT are set to 'Safe mode'. Update: beam was scare, test postphoned.<br />
- In regards to the target configuration, we are going to fill LD2 target this evening after firmware tests. Since high current is hard on BMT (and we do not have spare tiles), the high BST multiplicities and BMT trips introduce additional inefficiencies, we will go back to LD2+Pb configuration. The double target eventually cancels inefficiencies in the multiplicity ratio of targets that were are measuring. The plan is to accumulate comparable statistics on LD2+Pb as we accumulated on LD2+Cu, then switch to the other solid target (Tin / Al). This is likely to take place over the weekend depending on the beam quality.</p>
