I am writing to keep you informed about the lab’s operational status. With the support of the Department of Energy, Jefferson Lab expects to extend full operations through mid-November. The specific date will be communicated once it is determined. We continue
to evaluate funding options to extend operations for as long as possible for as many people as possible.<br>
<br>
Tomorrow (Wednesday, Oct. 22) will be designated as a paid holiday. Normal operations will resume Thursday, Oct. 23, and staff should report to work as scheduled.<br>
<br>
A more comprehensive set of FAQs will be shared as soon as possible. For now, here is some important information we can share:</span></span></p>

<li paraeid="{adda3ff5-ff6b-4c41-9631-539dfb4a6f20}{12}" paraid="175356754"><span style="font-size: 14px;"><span style="font-family: arial, "helvetica neue", helvetica, sans-serif;">Medical Benefits: Premiums are fully covered through Nov. 30, 2025. For December,
Anthem and Optima provide a 31-day grace period to maintain coverage if full premiums cannot be collected. We are currently exploring options to meet financial obligations to extend coverage through January.</span></span></li><li paraeid="{adda3ff5-ff6b-4c41-9631-539dfb4a6f20}{12}" paraid="175356754"><span style="font-size: 14px;"><span style="font-family: arial, "helvetica neue", helvetica, sans-serif;">Voluntary Vacation Use: To help delay a labwide furlough for as long as possible,
we are requesting that those with 200 or more hours of vacation consider using vacation by Nov. 7.</span></span></li><li paraeid="{adda3ff5-ff6b-4c41-9631-539dfb4a6f20}{12}" paraid="175356754"><span style="font-size: 14px;"><span style="font-family: arial, "helvetica neue", helvetica, sans-serif;">Furlough Vacation Use: We are still exploring the legal requirements and if
