Dear CLAS users,
I am making simulations of the clas6 eg2 experiment. A half year ago I was
running these simulations, and finished what I was doing. Now I need to do
more, but I noted that the system doesn't reproduce the data as before;
for instance the beta vs momentum dependency of charged pions are shifted
in the direction of beta > 1. I am using the same reconstruction chain to
reconstruct my simulations.
The gpp application has been changed. The current version doesn't put the
run number 10 in the output, in the previous version this number was hard
coded to 10. Now it takes the run number given in the command line,
then user_ana incorrectly uses this number to make the reconstruction,
which causes the problems. I tested the new user_ana, with an old
gpp-produced file and everything is ok.
Now I am using the previous version of the gpp application to work around
the problem. If changes done to gpp will not be compatible with the
simulations of clas6, then maybe it should be renamed to avoid confusion,
otherwise, a standard set of simulation should be performed before release
so that problems can be detected and fixed.
Thanks,
Orlando.
