<p class=MsoNormal>The new system has been running in parallel for a while now,
serving the entire clasweb content tree. A few issues have turned up, but generally,
things look pretty promising (for this phase). Please go to <a
href="http://claswebnew.jlab.org">http://claswebnew.jlab.org</a> and test URLs
for applications that you have an interest in. Be watchful for URLs that are
hard-coded as “clasweb” and will take you back to the old server.
Manually editing these URLs in your browser to reflect “claswebnew”
during testing should produce the same page, delivered by the new server.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Initially, there were problems with some URLs associated with
the logbook that I think have been corrected now. Also, a large number of perl
scripts were complaining about a missing module. This also has been addressed.
There is another missing perl module that was locally developed. Sergey is
checking into it. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Bear in mind that testing so far has been limited to what I
happen to click on. Though this includes the most popular URLs, and specific
apps I happen to be aware of, much of the testing will need to be done by you.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Sergey is checking stuff now too. Assuming nothing terrible
turns up, I plan to switch the new server into production tomorrow morning.<o:p></o:p></p>
