Minutes for Jan 18, 2011

computing needs for CLAS12

Chip Watson will be asking for a detailed analysis of CLAS12's
computing needs. It is due on Jan 31st, less than two weeks from now. We should be thinking this over in an effort come up with
best-estimate numbers next week for:

raw event size

DAQ rate

reconstructed event size (relative to raw)

mean track multiplicity in an event

time of reconstruction per track or event

reconstruction scaling as a fn of track multiplicity

simulation computing and storage needs

bank definitions

We are not ready for a GUI or even a command line query tool
to list all available services and their API's. This is because of the
lack of standard bank definitions

The first set of banks will be taken directly from Mauri's
gemc. From there, we will define more banks as necessary for SOT, and
other ClaRa services.
