the executable was linked with shared libraries, which may not work on<br>
all platforms. What's worse, there is a mixture of shared and static libraries in /usr/lib64/cernlib/2006/lib.<br>

Probably all cernlib input to gsim, including c_cern, etc. should be linked as static (.a) libraries. This may work or not, depending on whether the linker goes ahead and sticks a Fortran common block into 64-bit address space, in which case no cernlib pointer will find it.<br>
