[Clas_online] CLON meeting April 1, 2020 minutes

At that point looks like DAQ/Trigger taskforce report will contains (but will not be limited by) following sections:


  1.  CLAS12 physics motivation for DAQ/Trigger improvements - Valery
  2.  Front-End: CLAS12 DAQ/Trigger hardware limitations and possible upgrades, keeping in mind streaming daq model and our VTP-based experience with it - Ben, Sergey
  3.  Back-End: evaluation of the existing streaming models, experience with TriDAS, JLAB-based solution in CLAS12,.. - ?
  4.  Data processing in L3 as short term CLAS12 DAQ/Trigger improvement, based on upgraded L1 algorithms - Sergey/new_hire
  5.  Data processing in L3 as short term CLAS12 DAQ/Trigger improvement, based on offline and IA algorithms - Gagik/Nathan
  6.  Data processing in streaming mode as long term CLAS12 DAQ/Trigger solution - Gagik/Nathan

Please let me know if I missed/misunderstood anything. Item 3 should probably contains general information about how other facilities are implementing streaming readout and our recommendations, it may be written by colleagues from Graham's group. I separated items 5 and 6 because they may have different approach, it is up to Gagik and Nathan. Regarding short/long terms: we should keep in mind that while L3 can be implemented in some months, streaming daq is at least several years in the future.
