Dear lead authors:
This is an interesting results, and the paper is well written. I have just a few minor comments:
page 1, right column:
para 3:
expression "with in-bending electrons" is probably not clear to readers what it means.
I suggest to replace it with "with electrons bending towards the beam line".
Since acronym "EC" is used I suggest to also use TOF after "time-of-flight scintillation counters (TOF)"
and "CC" after "Cerenkov counters (CC)", and use CC and TOF further down as well.
para 4, line 5: Rearrange sentence "Additional electron/pion ....calorimeter [20]" to read "Additional electron/pion
separation was achieved by demanding a correlation between the energy deposited in the inner and outer parts of
the EC divided by the momentum of the particle [20]."
page 3:
Fig 3: The average values quoted in the 3 panels end with "%". Remove the "%", the ratios are
absolute numbers not percentages.
page 5: Acknowledgement: Add the funding agencies that are listed in recent CLAS papers.
General comment: On several places the text refers to "semi-inclusive A(e,e'p) cross sections".
While I don't believe absolute cross sections were extracted, please clarify how the yields from
different nuclear targets were normalized to each other (Charge in Faraday cup, scatters from LD2
that was always in the beam, ..?).
That is all for now.
Volker
