Nicholas,

I have read through your draft on the BSA in deuteron photodisintegration and my
comments are included below. When the announcement was sent out that the paper
was available, the posted draft was dated Feb. 4. This is the version of the paper
that I read. When I went to enter my comments, I saw that a different version of the
paper was linked dated Feb. 5. I have tried to make my comments relevant to the page
and line numbers of the Feb. 5 draft. However, I did not read the Feb. 5 draft, so
if there were additional problems introduced, my comments do not capture them. Let
me know if you have any questions.

General.
 - Do not make figures color if they do not need to be. Those that require color should
have "(Color Online)" in the caption.

Page 1.
 - Abstract. Line 2. Use "... at the Thomas Jefferson ...".
 - Line 56. The mass m is not defined. Is this the nucleon mass?

Page 2.
 - Line 93. Use "... as well as the newer data from JLab ...". (Refs from E93-104 are more
   than 10 years old.)
 - Eq. 3. In $f(\theta)$, put index on the sum. i.e. i=1 to 6.
 - Line 117. "... with $i$ running over different combinations of initial-state spin
orientations and $\pm$ indicating different final-state combinations ...". I think
you need to be more specific here. I am not fully sure that I understand what you
mean by "orientations" and "combinations" (combinations of what?).
 - Line 166. Use "... any free parameters.".
 - Eq. (6). Use "$\cos$ to put cos in roman font.

Page 3.
 - Line 194. Space between $^3$ and $He$ should be removed.
 - Line 195. Use "... calculations of the beam-spin ...".
 - Line 199. Use "... of the valence-quark wave function ...".
 - Line 223. $u_N$ is not defined.

Page 4.
 - Fig. 2. The lines pointing from the labels to the detector parts are invisible, the beam direction
is not indicated, and there is no scale on the view.
 - Line 356. I think you should include the torus polarity and the current for this experiment.
 - Lines 365,367. "the Hall-B floor" is awkward. Instead use "parallel/perpendicular to the horizontal
   detector mid-plane".

Page 5.
 - Line 373. Use "Different electron beam energy settings ...".
 - Line 416. Use "... formed by events that were assigned the wrong mass ...".

Page 6.
 - Paragraph starting at line 463 has tense problems.
 - Line 463. Use "... often escaped detection or failed track ...".
 - Line 464. Use "... regions near the edges of ...".
 - Line 465. Use "... particles that hit the support ...".
 - Line 466. Use "... magnet failed track ...".
 - Line 468. Use "... varied rapidly ...".
 - Line 478. Use "... particles fell in a region ...".
 - Line 506. Use "The contribution of events with ...".

 - Eq. 14. What is the "0" subscript on the cross section?
 - Line 673. Use "... polarization of the beam photon and ...".
 - Line 677. What is the "CLAS reference frame"?
 - Eq. 15. Problems with several parentheses on the right-side of the the first line of the equation.
 - Line 690. Should not be indented.
 - Line 693. Use "nominal orientation".
 - Line 707. Use "... $A$ was determined ...".

 - Table II caption. Last line. Use "... or relative (Type 2).".
 - Line 836. "The study yielded an uncertainty of $\Sigma$ of less than 1\%. The results of
this method indicate that the uncertainty propagated to the estimated $\Sigma$ is less
than 1\%." Seems to me like these two sentences say the exact same thing and you are just
   repeating yourself.

 - Line 870. Use "... possible leakage ...".
 - Line 872. Use "... $\Sigma$ was found ...".

   - Line 1. Use "... energy for $\theta_{c.m.}=90^\circ$.".
   - Line 4. Use "... uncertainties of the present CLAS measurements".

Bibliography.
 - Please make certain that the references are in the order that they are cited in the paper (they
were not in the Feb. 4 version).
 - You are missing a link on Ref.[73]. All other thesis references give the link.
