Dear Dan,

Thank you for helping us to improve our paper. We took nearly all of your suggestions into account and incorporated them into the new version of the paper. The ones we did not exactly follow are:

> Page 1:
> - Line 17. I suggest "The reasons being that nucleon structure ...".
We used "The reason is that nucleon structure ...", which we thought was better. Please note that this part was changed following a comment from the A-H C.

> Page 3:
> - Line 239. Use "... is the CLAS detector acceptance, which also ...".
We used your suggestion, but without the word "CLAS", since only one sector was used. Having CLAS might be misleading.

> Page 4:
> - Line 259. What do you mean by "smearing effects"?
Instead of explaining, we removed the sentence since it seemed to detailed for a PRL. (We can simply consider that GPP as part of GSIM.)

> - Line 272. The quantities F2, R, and A2 are not defined.
We mention that they are structure functions and asymmetry. They are the standard DIS ones so this should be enough. (Calling R a structure function is abusive, but it is usual.)

> Page 5:
> - Line 328. Use "... minimum $Q^2$ ...".
Done. We also changed two other "minimal" to "minimum" (in the introduction and conclusion).

> - Line 368. Use "This 10\% away from the prediction of Ref.[34], which
There is a confusion: Ref. [34] does not provide the prediction, only the nuclear correction. The prediction is provided by the GDH sum rule. We rewrote the sentence to make this clear.

Thank you again for your input and your thorough checks. We hope the current version of the paper ( www.jlab.org/Hall-B/secure/eg4/deur/EG4_ND3_V12.pdf ), which has your comments implemented, is satisfactory.

Best regards,

Alexandre
