Morning All,

There will be important maintenance/security updates performed on the business service network (BSN) desktops today that will require
users to log out of Costpoint, the remote server and off of their desktop systems entirely by 4:55pm today.

We are asking Costpoint/Remote Server users to exit off no later than 4:40pm today, Tuesday, June 18th.  

Please remember to close Costpoint properly FIRST then log off the remote server by no later than 4:40 p.m.

Note that Zimbra (email) will be offsite for a short time as well.

The IT Division is planning a computer systems maintenance period for Tuesday, June 18, 5-7 p.m. During this time, the cc.jlab.org web server will be offline while it is upgraded, and most other web servers will be offline intermittently to apply system patches. The Zimbra email system may have a short down (less than five minutes) in order to install an updated license file. Windows and Linux patches will also be pushed out to all Computer Center-managed desktop systems. Plan now to reboot your system on Wednesday or Thursday in order to finalize patch installation. If you have any questions or concerns regarding these maintenance items, or any time you experience difficulties with your JLab computer, contact the IT Division Helpdesk at x7155 or helpdesk at jlab.org . 


In addition, the following applications will be unavailable due to maintenance to the database servers: all Management Information Systems (MIS) applications, including Costpoint, Time Collection, JLIST, purchase requisitions, travel requisitions, and the JLab E-Commerce System. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the MIS outage, contact David Sheppard at x5008 or sheppard at jlab.org .
