Dear All Costpoint Users,
You are receiving this email because your system is in the Business
Service Network (BSN) or has access to it. The BSN is a highly protected
network in JLAB that contains sensitive data. In order to be in the BSN
network, every system is required to have all approved patches and
updates installed in a timely manner. The IT department installs Windows
patches and software updates on every third Tuesday night of the month
as a part of the Computer Maintenance day. In order to ensure that the
sensitive network is better protected, the IT department audits the
results of patch installations on the following Thursday, and we are
seeing systems that have not been patched in a reasonable timeframe.
Unfortunately, if the system hasn't been rebooted after the patch
installation, it's the same as not being installed. The system must be
rebooted for the patches to be effective.
Most of the BSN users do promptly reboot their systems when they see the
reboot request, but others do not, which makes the overall business
services network less secure. The IT department is trying very hard to
keep all systems safe, but we will need your cooperation as well. If you
haven't rebooted your system since last week, please reboot your system
as soon as possible. In general, please reboot your system as soon as
you see the reboot request.
Thanks!
Kari
