Postdoctoral Position in Experimental
Intermediate-Energy Nuclear Physics
The Catholic University of America
Washington, DC 20064
The Intermediate-Energy Nuclear Physics research group at The Catholic
University of America (CUA) invites applications for a postdoctoral
research associate position which will become available on October 1, 2009.
Our group (senior investigators Franz Klein and Daniel Sober) is active
in the Hall B (CLAS) and Hall D (GlueX) collaboration at the Thomas
Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (JLab) in Newport News, Virgina,
with particular interest in spin physics. We have responsibilities for
the tagged photon, coherent bremsstrahlung and polarized target
facilities in Hall B, and are collaborating in the design and
construction of the polarized tagged photon beam for Hall D.
The research associate is expected to reside at JLab and participate in
data-taking and analysis as well as assisting with development and
construction of the Hall D tagger. Hardware experience is highly desirable.
The appointment is initially for a term of one year, with renewal
possible by mutual agreement subject to the availability of funding.
