POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE POSITION IN EXPERIMENTAL NUCLEAR PHYSICS

The Electromagnetic Nuclear Physics  group at the Laboratoire de
Physique Corpusculaire (LPC: http://clrwww.in2p3.fr/index.php/) is seeking
a postdoctoral associate in Experimental Nuclear Physics, to contribute to
our research program on Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering
(http://hallaweb.jlab.org/experiment/DVCS/ ) at  Jefferson Lab. The
candidate will be stationed at JLab, with appropriate supported travel to
Clermont-Ferrand.

The LPC group includes Drs. Charles Hyde, Bernard Michel, Carlos Munoz
Camacho, and Helene Fonvieille, and two doctoral students, Eric Fuchey and
Florian Itard. Group members are co-spokesperson on three new DVCS
experiments at 6 and 12 GeV at JLab. Together with the LPC technical and
engineering staff, the group has built many detectors, including custom
electronics, for Jefferson Lab.

The candidate will be expected to take a leading role in the preparations,
data acquisition, and initial analysis for the next Hall A experiments on
DVCS (E07-007: www.jlab.org/exp_prog/proposals/07/PR-07-007.pdf and
E08-025: www.jlab.org/exp_prog/proposals/08/PR-08-025.pdf ), which will
run in Autumn 2010.  The LPC group will have a permanent presence of 2-4
people at Jefferson Lab throughout 2010.

A Ph.D. in experimental nuclear physics, or related field is required.
