The deadline for RSVPs to the JLab 25th Anniversary event and lunch is  
tomorrow, Sept. 10. As a reminder, the cafeteria will be closed for

New Standard Operating Procedure for Transporting Hazardous Materials
DOE now requires all of its research laboratories and facilities,  
including JLab, to write its own procedure for transporting Hazardous  
Materials onsite or to follow 49CFR parts 171 to 180. JLab chose to  
write its own plan, which has been approved by DOE – Standard  
Operating Procedure (SOP) FML-09-001-SOP – Transportation of Hazardous  
Materials. Everyone onsite must follow this SOP any time they are  
transporting or moving hazardous materials on the JLab campus.

No Puttering Around: Register Now for Oct. 8 Golf Tourney
Dust off those clubs! It's time for the JLab 2009 Fall Golf  
Tournament. The event will be held Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Golden  
Horseshoe Golf Club (Green Course) in Williamsburg. Teams must have at  
least two JLab employees. Registration for JLab employees is $50 and  
for non-JLab employees is $65. To sign up, see Mike Zarecky, ARC  
500/47. When you sign up, you must list your average score for 18  
holes. Make checks payable to Mike Zarecky. The deadline for  
registering for the tournament is Friday, Oct. 2. If you have any
