The "XIX International Workshop on Deep-Inelastic Scattering and Related
Subjects" (DIS2011) will be hosted by Jefferson Lab and take place in the
Marriott Center in Newport News (Virginia, USA) from April 11th to 15th,
2011.
The first day will be devoted to plenary review talks, followed by three
days
of parallel sessions and a few remaining plenary talks and all summary
talks
the final day. The web page of the Workshop (including a preliminary
outline
of the agenda) can be found under http://conferences.jlab.org/DIS2011/.
The aim of these workshops is to review the progress in the field of DIS
and
Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) and to lay the groundwork for future
experiments.
Most recent results from CERN, HERA, JLab, BNL/RHIC, and FNAL as well as
the
relevant theoretical developments will be covered. DIS2011 is expected to
bring together about 300 experimentalists and theorists.
DIS2011 is now open for registration and we encourage those of you who are
planning to attend to register as soon as possible. The deadline for the
advance registration and payment is March 11th, 2011. Reduced registration
fees are available for students. The web pages will be regularly updated as
more information becomes available.
DIS2011 is now also open for requesting talks at the parallel sessions.
Please contact via e-mail the convenors of the appropriate working group:
Structure functions and parton densities
Small-x, diffraction and vector mesons
Electroweak physics and beyond the standard model
QCD and hadronic final states
Heavy flavours Spin physics Future of DIS
(Names and e-mail addresses of many of the convenors are on the Workshop
web pages. These pages will be updated soon to add the last few names).
We encourage you to share the content of this message with your colleagues,
and hope to see you in Newport News.
