Today: Particle Therapy Colloquium and Public Lecture
Dr. Jay Flanz of The Francis H. Burr Proton Therapy Center, located on
the main hospital campus of Massachusetts General Hospital, will
present "The Technology of Particle Therapy: Today and Tomorrow," a
special colloquium today at 4 p.m. in the CEBAF Center auditorium.
CNI Maintenance Day, Tuesday, Feb 16
The CNI group has planned a maintenance period from 5-10 p.m. on
Tuesday, Feb 16. During this time, central servers, including e-mail
and web servers, will be rebooted to complete patch installations.
Additionally, network connectivity on the 2nd floor of CEBAF Center's
F Wing will be down from 5:30-7:30 p.m. as the network switch
undergoes maintenance. Plan accordingly for this network outage. In
addition, the central calendar server will be down for about one hour;
it will be back online no later than 10 p.m. For additional

JLab’s 2010 Benefits Open Enrollment Begins Next Wednesday
The Benefits Open Enrollment will be offered via the Employee Self
Service System to all regular and term staff employees beginning on
Wednesday, Feb. 17 and closing on March 2.
Volunteers Needed for Science Bowls on Feb. 27 and March 6
Volunteers are needed for a range of activities for the Virginia
Regional High School (rescheduled for Feb. 27) and the Middle School
(March 6) Science Bowl competitions. Training and practice is provided
to all volunteers. All volunteers receive a 2010 original-design
Science Bowl T-shirt and lunch if they work all day. JLab staff,
users, spouses and children (over age 13) are eligible to assist.

Valentines Week at the Quark Cafe
In Celebration of Valentines Day, the Quark Cafe is featuring a
different chocolate dessert Monday through Thursday this week. On
Thursday, Quark Cafe staff will offer a variety of tempting lunch
specials, including steak pinwheel with sun-dried tomato dressing,
shrimp scampi with jasmine rice, steamed lemon asparagus, lobster
mashed potatoes and mini-French fries. The Quark Cafe is located in
CEBAF Center and is open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for lunch.
