Red Cross Blood Drive at JLab Jan. 22
The next American Red Cross Blood Drive is scheduled for Friday, Jan.  
22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in CEBAF Center room F113. New and repeat  
donors are encouraged to attend. Appointments and walk-ins are  
welcome. To schedule an appointment or to volunteer, contact Johnie  
Banks at x7539 or jbanks at jlab.org.

Volunteers Needed for 2010 Science Bowls
The Virginia Regional High School Science Bowl is set for Saturday,  
Feb. 6, and the Virginia Regional Middle School Science Bowl is set  
for Saturday, March 6. Volunteers are needed for a range of activities  
during each event. Training and practice is provided to all  
volunteers. All volunteers receive a 2010 original-design Science Bowl  
T-shirt and lunch if they work  all day. JLab staff, users, spouses  
and children (over age 13) are eligible to assist with the many  
activities required to conduct these academic competitions. Anyone  
interested in more information or in volunteering, may contact Jan  
Tyler at tyler at jlab.org.

Puppy Obedience Training at JLab
Did you get a new puppy for Christmas, or did you make a New Year's  
resolution to train the dog you have? Then join the JAG Dog Training  
Club for a Basic Obedience class! There will be an informational  
meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 19 from noon - 1 p.m. in the BEAMS Classroom,  
VARC room 72. Bring your own bag lunch. Organizers will show a video  
called "On Talking Terms with Dogs: Calming Signals." Classes start on  
Tuesday, Jan. 26 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Beechwood Recreation Center

JLab Open House Set for May 1
The 2010 Open House will highlight the latest physics research and  
technology developments at JLab. Lab staff will be on hand to discuss  
their work, answer questions and provide scientific demonstrations  
throughout the day.
