SALARY RANGE: $47,600 - $71,600 (PD)

DUTIES:
Individual will participate in the commissioning, data taking, and 
analysis for the Hall C Qweak experiment, as well as preparations for 
future experiments. The Qweak experiment is a search for physics beyond 
the Standard Model in parity violating electron scattering from the 
proton. Outstanding hardware opportunities include the world's highest 
power liquid hydrogen target and a new Compton polarimeter. Software 
projects include data analysis and GEANT simulations. Following the 
accelerator upgrade to 12 GeV, Hall C will have available two large 
base-equipment magnetic spectrometers (one brand new) which can be 
flexibly employed singly, in coincidence, or in concert with 
user-supplied 3rd arms.


 Minimum Qualifications 	 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D. in experimental nuclear, particle, or high-energy astrophysics is 
required. Experience in analyzing data from intermediate/high energy 
experiments is essential.
