GORDON CONFERENCE ON PHOTONUCLEAR REACTIONS
                           August  1 - 6, 2010
                           Tilton, New Hampshire

    The upcoming Photonuclear Reactions Gordon Conference will take place
from August 1 - 6 (Sunday evening - Friday morning), in Tilton, New 
Hampshire.

and largely reflects the international and diverse interest in this topic.

    The Photonuclear Reactions Gordon Conference has been in existence
for over 40 years, and has a proud tradition in this field. The Gordon 
Research
Conference series are well recognized in many areas of science within the
USA, and around the world, and the fact that our field continues to have a
thriving and vigorous Gordon Conference sends a positive message to our
colleagues in other disciplines regarding the health of our research field.
We had a good and lively turnout in 2008, and hope that many of you show 
your
interest and support again in 2010, to be guaranteed a continuation of this
successful series of Gordon Research Conferences. (Registration application

    The Photonuclear Gordon Research Conference is a forum for active
researchers to present their latest results from theoretical and 
experimental
studies of photon and electron scattering from nucleons and nuclei. The 
topics
at the 2010 meeting will cover new ideas on the internal spatial and spin
quark/gluon structure of the nucleon, on the spectrum of excitations of the
pion and nucleon, the structure of few-body and exotic nuclei, implications
of the measured photonuclear processes for high-density nuclear matter, and
electromagnetic direct searches of physics beyond the Standard Model. Ample
opportunity will be set aside to discuss ideas with others in the field, 
and
identify future opportunities for our research community. The Photonuclear
GRC, on the campus of Tilton School, has historically provided ample and
unique opportunities for young physicists and leading researchers to 
interact
both formally and informally.

    As with all Gordon Conferences, presentations are in the morning and
evening, with afternoons left free for discussions and social interactions.
Tuesday afternoon will have a wine and cheese poster session, and poster

    With support from the Gordon Research Conferences, and contributions
from Jefferson Laboratory and the Massachusetts Institute for 
Technology, we
have secured funds to cover the local conference support for graduate 
students
and young postdoctoral researchers. Due to this support, we could assist 
over
35 young scientists (out of close to 100 attendants now, including many 
topical
experts) to attend the Conference.
