Call for Proposals :: 2010
Deadline for Proposals : Friday, May 7th, 2010
This is the annual call for proposals for nuclear-physics experiments at
the High Intensity Gamma-ray Source (HIGS). These proposals will be
reviewed by the HIGS Program Advisory Committee (PAC) at their annual
meeting which will be held on June 14 and 15, 2010 at the Triangle
Universities Nuclear Laboratory (TUNL) located on the campus of Duke
University. Experiments which are approved by the PAC will be placed in
a queue and will be scheduled for beam time over a two year period
starting in 2011. Beams with energies up to 100 MeV are expected to be
available in 2011. Details of the presently available beams as well
as general information about HIGS can be seen at
www.tunl.duke.edu/higs/. Priority will be given to proposals which
include TUNL collaborators. We plan to operate HIGS for about 1200 hours
per year for nuclear physics during this running period. Approved
experiments that have not received any beam time within two years after
PAC approval must be resubmitted for review by the PAC.
Further information regarding proposal submission can be found at:
