*University of New Hampshire Nuclear Physics Group Postdoctoral Position*

The Nuclear Physics Group (NPG) at the University of New Hampshire has
an immediate opening for a post-doctoral research associate, who will be
expected to take a leading role in the Jefferson Lab Hall A 2011
polarized target run. This set of experiments will measure the *proton
g_2 structure function, and elastic form factor ratio G_E/G_M at very
low momentum transfer; data which will play a central role in resolving
recent discrepancies observed in determinations of the proton charge
radius.*

The candidate will also participate in the NPG's robust experimental
program studying the fundamental structure of the nucleon and mesons, as
well as the details of their basic interactions. Specific projects
include the search for new heavy gauge bosons (HPS at Jlab), studies of
short range correlations, investigations of the parity violating
interference between the strong and weak force (NPDgamma at ORNL), two
photon exchange (OLYMPUS at DESY), polarized target development, and
detector upgrades for the JLab 12 GeV era.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in nuclear or particle physics
and will be expected to strongly contribute to the ongoing program, but
is also encouraged to propose and initiate new experiments.

The group's efforts are supported by the US Department of Energy. The
University of New Hampshire is an equal opportunity employer. Candidates
of both genders and all ethniticities are strongly urged to apply.
Inquiries and applications should be sent to:

Professor Maurik Holtrop,
Department of Physics, University of New Hampshire,
Durham, NH 03824.
