[Cuga] A reminder to the JLab user community---a message from Zein-Eddine Meziaini

Dear Colleague,

On July 26 our Jefferson Lab user community was informed by the Director 
about the start of a search for three open positions at the laboratory, 
namely Associate Director for Physics, Deputy Associate Director for 
Physics and Hall A Leader.

I am writing on behalf of the Users Group Board of Directors (UGBoD) to 
seek your input in regard to this search, particularly for the position 
of Associate Director. The duties in these positions are not only 
important for the execution of the experimental physics program at the 
Lab, but have a strong impact on the present research activities of the 
users  and the future directions of the nuclear physics experimental 
program at the Lab.

We are writing to remind you that your participation in providing input 
to the search process is important. As your elected representatives we 
strongly urge you to consider sending suggestions of people you deem 
qualified for these positions, particularly for the AD position, to any 
member on the UGBoD or directly to the search committee co-chaired by 
Don Geesaman (geeseman at anl.gov <mailto:geeseman at anl.gov> 
<mailto:geeseman at anl.gov>) and Bob McKeown (bmck at jlab.org 
<mailto:bmck at jlab.org> <mailto:bmck at jlab.org>).

In collecting input from the users the UGBoD aims at providing an 
independent recommendation to the search committee.  Any suggestions 
sent to the board will be passed on to the search committee. If you 
prefer your suggestions to remain anonymous we will certainly honor that.
