SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT
*Sixth International Conference on *
*Quarks and Nuclear Physics *
*(QNP2012) *
*April 16-20, 2012 *
*Ecole Polytechnique***
*Palaiseau, France *
This conference will continue the series of QNP meetings previously held
in Adelaïde, Jülich, Bloomington, Madrid and Beijing. It will take place
at Ecole Polytechnique, close to Paris and with convenient public
transportation to its center.
The conference will highlight 40 years of development in QCD through the
following themes:
A- Quark and gluon content of nucleons and nuclei (parton distribution
functions, generalized parton distributions, transverse momentum
distributions,...),
B- Hadron spectroscopy (structure, production and decay, light and
heavy quarks, hybrids, glueballs, molecular states, multi-hadron
systems,...),
C- Non-perturbative methods of QCD,
D- Effective field theories (chiral perturbation theory, soft collinear
effective theories, non-relativistic effective field theories, heavy
baryon perturbation theories, effective field theories at finite
temperature,...),
E- Nuclear matter under extreme conditions and nuclear medium
(quark-gluon plasma, color glass condensate, dense stars, jet formation,
hard QCD probes, hadronization, quark propagation, nuclear medium
effects,...).
The conference will emphasize recent theoretical progress in the field,
as well as experimental advances. It will foster exchanges between
theory, phenomenology and experiment. In addition to the plenary
sessions, parallel sessions will be organized following the above
mentioned themes, as well as a poster session. For each parallel
session, two convenors will select abstracts and organize the
corresponding program of presentations.
*At this time, we would like to invite you to submit an abstract for
presentation and to register. Please note the important deadlines:*
*End of abstract submission: January 13, 2012*
*End of early registration: March 1^st , 2012*
*End of late registration: April 2^nd , 2012*
Young physicists, post-docs and students, are especially encouraged to
attend.
