The Department of Physics at Yale University invites applications for a junior
faculty position in the area of experimental nuclear physics, broadly defined.
The successful candidate will join an active group of experimentalists and
theorists conducting research in neutrino oscillations, dark matter searches,
nuclear structure, nuclear astrophysics, and relativistic heavy ion physics,
using world-class facilities on the Yale University campus and elsewhere. We
are especially interested in candidates whose research program is in weak
interaction physics. Yale faculty are expected to lead internationally
recognized and forefront research programs.

An appointment at the Assistant Professor level is expected, although in
exceptional cases, an appointment at the level of Professor could be
considered. Applicants are encouraged to apply online at
https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/765 and must submit a letter of
application (pdf format), curriculum vita, publication list, and a brief
description of proposed research. Applicants should also arrange for 3
letters
of recommendation to be uploaded to the same URL (which can happen only after
the applicant has created a profile). For further information about the
position, contact Professor Keith Baker, Chair of the Nuclear Physics Search
Committee (keith.baker at yale.edu) or Professor Meg Urry, Chair of the Physics
Department (meg.urry at yale.edu). Applications that are complete by November 1,
2011 will be assured of full consideration.

Yale is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer, and
applications from
women and minorities are strongly encouraged.
