Announcing - New Electronic Process for Returning Foreign National User
Badge Activation

Currently, all returning foreign national users must notify
jris at jlab.org <mailto:jris at jlab.org> by email and wait for an email
response from JRIS for badge activation of an upcoming visit. In order
to streamline and make the process easier for Users, we are working on
an online electronic process for the badge activation notification and
completion of the Visit Form.

The new process will allow all to be completed online including upcoming
visit notifications to JRIS, confirmation email notifications to the
Users, current upcoming visit dates in JList for the badge activation,
training status information, JLab department/division notification of
upcoming User visit.

Please stay tuned for upcoming emails announcing the rollout of this new
streamlined process.

*Reminder -- Show JLab Invitation Letter at the U.S. Port of Entry*

A JLab INVITATION LETTER is required at the port of entry for all non US
citizens requesting a Business Visa (B-1, WB) to participate in
research, workshops, conferences and meetings at JLab. These activities
are prohibited with a Tourist Visa (B-2, WT).

An official JLab Business Invitation Letter is available for download at
the following website -- add in the dates of the next upcoming visit and
print out to show to the officer at the U.S. port of entry to obtain a
Business (B1 or WB) visa.
