September 19 Briefs Excerpts:

Physicists: Act Fast to Get "Adopted" for High School Physics Outreach
Adopt-a-Physicist connects high school physics students to real physics graduates who are eager to share their stories through online discussion forums that are active Oct. 2-22. Each physicist can only be adopted by up to three classes, making lively, in-depth discussions possible. Led by Sigma Pi Sigma and sponsored by the American Physical Society, the Society of Physics Students and the American Association of Physics Teachers, Adopt-a-Physicist aims to engage high school physics students and teachers in exploring the benefits of studying physics; encourage physics graduates to give back by sharing their experiences with students; and advance the dialogue between the physics and the high school education communities. Physicist registration closes today, Sept. 19, so sign up now: http://www.adoptaphysicist.org/

Flu Shots Now Available
Occupational Medicine is now scheduling appointments to administer Influenza vaccinations to JLab staff. If you would like to be vaccinated, contact Occupational Medicine at x7539 to schedule an appointment. Keep in mind when you schedule your appointment that for 15 minutes after vaccination, you should remain at JLab in the presence of other people and avoid safety-sensitive activities, including driving.

Tracking Thomas at JLab
Congratulations this week go to Brita Hampton, Samika Hawkins and Ryan Bodenstein, who were the first to correctly identify the location for Sept. 12. Honorable mentions go to Michael Haddox-Schatz, Doug Higinbotham and Harry Fanning. Check out the Tracking Thomas webpage for a better view of his last location and this week's new mystery photo and email Kandice Carter if you think you know where he is: http://wwwold.jlab.org/news/briefs/trackingthomas.html
