[Cuga] The Sixth Workshop on "Hadron Physics in China and Opportunities in US"- A message from Jian-ping Chen

Dear Colleagues,

The Sixth Workshop on "Hadron Physics in China and Opportunities in US" will
be held at the Institute of Modern Physics (IMP), Lanzhou, China on July 21
- July 24, 2014. Hadron Physics has drawn great interests from the Chinese
nuclear and high-energy physics communities and has been one of the main 
physics
goals at the new facilities (BESIII at IHEP, CEE/HIAF at IMP, …) in China. At the
same time, the Chinese collaborations are playing increasinglyimportant 
roles
at the international hadron physics facilities (Jefferson Lab, PANDA, STAR,
PHENIX, HERMES,J-PARC, …), in particular, at the JLab12 GeV energy upgraded
Jefferson Lab in US, which will provide a broad range of opportunities for
frontier research in hadron physics. Furthermore, electron-Ion colliders 
(EIC)
have been proposed in US and in Europe as the next generation of QCD 
frontier.
In China, anEIC at HIAF facility has recently beenproposed by the Institute of
Modern Physics to provide a powerful precision microscope for hadron 
physics
study. In light of these new developments, the sixth workshop will be 
held at
the Institute of Modern Physics, to discuss the current status, to promote
further development of hadron physics in China and to further enhance the
collaboration between the Chinese and the US hadron physics communities and
hadron physicists in the world wide elsewhere.
